The teams have been named ahead of this afternoon’s Bank of Ireland Leinster Schools Junior Cup final between Blackrock College and Newbridge College.

The sides meet at Energia Park at 2pm in what is a repeat of the 2020 version which was unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Starting with Blackrock, there is no changes from their starting XV that beat Terenure College in the semi-final.

They will be led by captain Jack Angulo at No 8 where he’s joined in the back row by Hubie McCarthy and Michael Walsh.

Donie Grehan, Jack Pollard and Niall Smyth are in the front row while Thomas Butler and Donnacha McGuire pack down behind them.

Seb Shortt is partnered by Conor O’Shaughnessy in the half-backs with Charlie Woodcock and Derry Moloney in midfield.

The back three consists of full-back Brian O’Flaherty flanked by Cian Dennehy-Vazquez and Charlie Molony.

For the Kildare school, it’s as you were from their semi-final also – a 53-14 win over St Vincent’s Castleknock College.

Captain Paddy Taylor has been a force to be reckoned with in this tournament and will once again take the number 10 shirt for his side, pulling the strings alongside Daniel Connolly.

Outside them will be centres Calum Murphy and Ciarán Mangan while the impressive Todd Lawlor, Dara Cosgrave and Ardin Magee complete the backs.

Up front, Tadhg Kelly, John Walsh and Billy Bohan retain their spots in the front row, as do Jack Dennis and Conor Hanly behind them.

Vice-captain Ruairí Munnelly will line out at openside flanker joined by Josh Montgomery at blindside and Patrick Forde at No 8.
