Terenure College RFC recently launched the ‘Turning on the Lights’ project, at the club’s Vision 2020 ‘Fruits’ meeting…
Donal Hyland, President of Terenure College RFC formally launched the project in front of an enthusiastic audience who heard first-hand the exciting plans to elevate the club to a whole new level. It was fitting that this event was launched at a Vision 2020 meeting – a group who were instrumental in creating the plan for these facilities in the first place.
The members of Terenure College RFC had unanimously voted for this project in April 2012 and the project will now move forward to the planning stages.
The ambitious project sets out to completely redevelop the club helping it in its ambitions to become one of the country’s leading rugby club destinations.
In all, the club plans to completely redevelop its first two pitches, re-laying the first pitch and converting the second to an entirely artificial, all-weather surface. In both cases modern floodlights will also be added allowing night-time training and evening matches in the future. The project also includes redevelopment of the club’s changing room facilities.
The project is expected to cost in the region of €;800,000 and take approximately four years to complete – subject to all planning permission and the necessary funds being raised.
