His daughter Catherine Fenning and his two sons Joe and Gerry together with their families were the main guests on the evening. His lifetime friend Dermot Kilroy was also present while there were also representatives from neighbouring clubs, Edenderry, Mullingar, Birr and Roscrea.
Club President Ray Farrell and Oliver’s friend, protégé and fellow Trustee Paul Wrafter spoke of the great man. The sculptor Michael C. Keane working from photographs did a terrific job on the likeness to Oliver.
A large crowd of mature friends enjoyed the rest of the evening either watching Leinster in the Heineken Cup or catching up on old stories.
