Tullamore Rugby Club congratulates Niamh Kavanagh and looks forward to her getting her first Ireland cap on Sunday against Italy as she is selected to start on the wing…

Niamh is an Offaly girl and remarkably only started rugby two years ago when she played in the Tullamore Summer Tag Rugby Tournament for Hugh Lynch’s Pub team, where she worked. She took to the game like a duck to water and was the outstanding player of the tournament.

She is in college in U.L. and therefore joined UL Bohs to play rugby. Rugby is in the family as her brother Anthony played with Tullamore Youths up to Under-16 before Newbridge College and being capped for both Ireland Under-19 and Under-21 levels and currently plays with Garryowen.
