Over the past few months girls from Tullow Community School have been in training for development and tag rugby…

These girls have demonstrated great interest and ability at the games and have picked up the rules very quickly.

In the coming weeks the school hopes to take part in a Leinster Blitz and the girls are really looking forward to it.

Some of these girls already play rugby in Tullow Rugby Club and with the introduction of this program in the school it is hoped that many more will be encouraged to join the club also.

One girl in particular has already excelled in the sport, Meabh Donough from Ardattin has represented Leinster at under 19’s and represented Ireland at under 19,s in a sevens competition in England. Everyone is very proud of her achievements and has great hopes for her in the future.

Great praise has to go to Katherine McMahon and Clare Nolan two teachers in the school who devote their time and are a great support to all the girls.
