UCD RFC is Ireland’s leading university rugby club, marking its Centenary during this current season.

Based on the Belfield Campus, which features world class training and playing facilities, UCD RFC plays an important role in the life of the University. It caters for elite and social players, fielding seven teams per week. UCD RFC operates an Academy for talented young players, many of whom play underage representative rugby for Leinster and Ireland.

Players such as Brian O’Driscoll, Rob Kearney, Sean O’Brien, Fergus McFadden and Kevin McLaughlin have come through the UCD Academy.

UCD RFC is now seeking a club administrator to provide efficient and effective administrative services for UCD RFC with the role including but not limited to functions such as membership communication, book keeping, assistance with event organisation and general administrative functions of UCD RFC.

The Club Administrator will report to the Chairman of UCD RFC.

Responsibilities:

Administration/secretarial support:

–  Support to Chairman, the President, Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Ticket Secretary and the various committees as required from time to time;

–  General club communication co-ordinator;

–  Liaise with Honorary Secretary with respect to on campus club promotion;

–  Assisting in website management;
–  Club membership subscriptions and membership communication;

–  Assist in the general administration of all non-rugby aspects of elite, junior teams and under 21 teams as required; and

–  Assisting in the administration of the Centenary Committee and its various fundraising initiatives.

–  Assisting in maintaining communication between UCD RFC and the University itself.

Finance:

–  Accounts data input and financial administration as required by Treasurer;

–  Book keeping and invoice management;

–  Bank lodgements and Bank reconciliation; and

–  Weekly cash management and reconciliation as required.

–  Liaising and assisting the Centenary Finance Committee as required.

– Assisting with and co-ordinating various fundraising initiatives.

Rugby support:

–  Assist the Director of Rugby in respect of certain day-to-day functions as required.

Fundraising and marketing of club:

–  Assist the Finance Committee as required;

–  Prepare weekly match day inserts for Ulster Bank All Ireland League Games; and

–  Working with relevant committees in respect of co-ordination of all fund raising activities.

Events:

Assisting the relevant committees of UCD RFC in respect of particular events including but not limited to the UCD RFC Annual Dinner, Annual Colours Match, pre match lunches for Ulster Bank All Ireland League;

Skills & Experience:

Candidates for the role are expected to have:

– Strong organisational skills and administrative skills;
– Accounting or book-keeping skills;

– Proficiency in setting up and using accounts software;

– Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software;
– Excellent communication skills and personal manner; and
– A proven record and evidence of working in a rugby club environment.

Three Years (to include a 6 month probationary period)
