Women’s rugby in Dublin 9 and 11 has received a huge boost with the announcement that Unidare Rugby Club will be fielding a team this season in the newly established Leinster Women’s League…

Unidare are now actively seeking new members, both men and women, to get involved in rugby at all levels. Not content with being the first Ladies tag rugby team on the north side Unidare Ladies have taken the next big step and are forming a team to play full contact rugby which will compete with the best in Leinster.

Commenting on the development Unidare RFC Chairperson, Nicola Cosgrave stated “I got involved through playing tag rugby and found it to be a fantastic way to get fit, meet new people and get involved in a club in the local community. We have some really talented players and if more people get involved we’ll be a match for any team in our League.”

Established in 1958, Unidare RFC has two adult male teams, two underage teams and was the first team on the north side to field a women’s team. The club also runs mini-rugby for boys and girls every Saturday in Balcurris Park, Ballymun.
