With Womens Rugby seeing such huge growth in popularity Leinster Rugby are seeking volunteers to support and join the committees, and assist in all areas of development of the Women’s Game…

Several positions are available in varying roles, from P.R. Assistants supporting the PR Officer – sourcing and writing promo articles and being involved in marketing the women’s game, to Schools & Youth assistants to help organise and run the schoolgirls and club girls game.
No experience is necessary – just enthusiasm, the desire to take on a new challenge, an interest in Rugby, a little bit of spare time and the wish to add a little something extra to your C.V.!
The following are the positions on the Women’s Committee:

Chairperson – Responsible for overseeing the smooth running of all the various sections as well as representing the Women’s section on other Leinster Rugby and IRFU Committees and at various events.

Secretary – Organising correspondence between Clubs and Committee, attend & minute Women’s meeting.

Competitions Officer – Oversees the running of all Leinster Women’s Competitions and represents the Women on the Competitions Committee within the branch. Will also assist with all matters relating to refereeing going forward.

Youths Officer – Is responsible for overseeing all girls competitions and represents the girls section on the youths committee

Schools Officers – These are new positions that will entail assisting in the organisation of a schools competition as well as representing girls schools on the Leinster Schools Committee.

PRO Team are responsible for all publicity. There will be a PRO subcommittee required also although these will not be elected positions, we are looking for people with an interest in the following: 

  • Social Media; Suitable for one or two people, as Facebook and twitter are separate and may suit different styles. This person would ensure social media is kept up to date and promote events through social media.
  • Leinster Website Online content; This is a person to liaise with clubs and source newsworthy articles and work with the professional Leinster Marketing Dept to develop a strong presence for Women’s & Girls Rugby on the Leinster Website.
  • Print; This would suit one to two people, possibly Media/Marketing graduates with an interest in writing/editing articles. This can be broken into  areas: 
  1. Irish Independent = people responsible for sourcing/submitting articles and submission to HQ via clubs or sections.
  2. Leinster match programmes: Persons responsible for sourcing Female Rugby news articles for each home match program.  
  • Competitions: Someone to write articles & match reports relating to Womens Competitions progression, as well as attending and reporting on big events such as season opener blitz, Finals days.
  • Interprovincial: Leinster Womens Rugby require a dedicated person/s for the publicity of the Leinster Women’s Provincial Rugby. This person would promote the Interpro Series via articles & social media updates, and travel to games to update results and write match reports for publication.
