Leinster Vets rugby was the winner on Wednesday night as both Wanderers and Bective gave an excellent display of running rugby, but it was Wanderers who won 7-5…
Wanderers ran out deserved winners as they took their chance after a Bective try line clearance was blocked and the try was scored near to the posts. The conversion made it 7-0 at half time.
The second half was dominated by Bective who had a try disallowed and missed a number of kicks at goal, including an injury time penalty to win the match. To be fair to the Bective kicker, he had an excellent game, but lady luck deserted him on the day.
Ian Dwyer’s try for Bective was the result of hard running by the Bective pack and excellent hands.
