Week 3 of The Herald Summer Camps came to a close this afternoon with more than 300 6-12 year olds learning to play the Leinster way…

This week, three camps were hosted in venues across the province, namely Greystones RFC, Lansdowne FC and Mullingar RFC. Camp goers learned a multitude of skills from all areas of the game from passing to evasion and from kicking to tackling. All of this was done under the stewardship of our IRFU accredited coaches.

Wednesday saw a surprise visit to all camps by players from the Leinster senior squad. Greystones was paid a visit by Shane Jennings and birthday boy Darragh Fanning. The players posed for photographs and signed autographs for all campers before Fanning was treated to a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday on his big day! The Lansdowne FC camp on the back pitch at Aviva Stadium was visited by centre Gordon D’Arcy and back rower Jordi Murphy. Marty Moore and Mike McCarthy made the journey down to the Midlands visiting the camp at Mullingar RFC.

Next week the camps continue with three more being held in Portlaoise RFC, Tullow RFC and Seapoint RFC. All remaining camps have now SOLD OUT.
