Westmanstown RFC is looking for Girls/Ladies…

Women’s and Girls rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and when you look at the hugely successful Irish Women’s team about to take part in the World Cup it is not hard to understand why. It is a sport that provides a place for every ability, from the girls/ladies who class themselves as ‘not sporty’ to the already hugely successful footballers, basketballer’s, hockey players etc. There is a place on the pitch for everyone.

Westmanstown RFC began an U18 and U15 girls team last season and has seen just how quick that growth can be, with two players, Liz Hannigan and Nobukhosi Biyela making the Leinster Under 18 Squad and the Clubs biggest accolade to date, Molly Scuffil McCabe making the Irish Under18 7s squad in the very first season. Molly continues to train with the Irish Squad through the summer and will hopefully become the first Westmanstown Player to wear the Green. Both teams also saw great success with the u18s finishing 3rd in their league.

Garda RFC is the adult section of the Club and is this season restarting what was a hugely successful Senior Women’s side. It is open to everyone, and is actively looking for new players from those with experience to complete beginners. Training will start with a FREE, no obligation bootcamp every Tues and Thursday for August.

The club needs you, so if you are female, aged from 12 up and would like to see what its all about why not call down to the open evening on Thurs Aug 7th at 6.30pm or contact Lorna 0862323344. Alternatively check out the Westmanstown RFC Facebook page.

GO ON, GIVE IT A TRY…..don’t let the boys have all the fun!!!!
