The highlight and grand finale of the Leinster branch Y.D.O Scheme (Youth Development in Rugby) for 2009/10 season will take place at Park Land (W.W.R.F.C grounds) on Tuesday, 11th May at 10.30am…
This is an occasion not to be missed by rugby supporters, to witness the very grass roots of our game with young boys and girls competing for three different trophies on the same day.
Here at a young age sport, discipline, fun, good manners, companionship, individual skills, team building, respect, winning, losing is displayed in a controlled environment by local Y.D.O Noel Ferguson and his team of referees and officials.
The programme for the day will be as follows:
. Kelly’s Resort Hotel Cup will be contested by 5th and 6th classes mixed.
. People Newspaper Trophy will be contested by 4th and 5th classes mixed.
. Echo Newspaper Trophy will be contested by all girls.
Awards from Leinster Branch will also have an input for:
. Fair play
. Best-dressed team
. Best skills
. A special Elverys sports gift
Schools competing will be as follows:
Kilmore N.S, Barn town N.S, Screen N.S, Curracloe N.S, Crossabeg N.S, Castle Bridge N.S, Rosslare Strand N.S, Kilrane N.S, Kennedy Park N.S (Gordan D’Arcy’s old school) Coolcotts N.S, St Iberins N.S, C.B.S N.S, The Faythe N.S.
With at least three teams from each school, this is one of the best sporting spectacles with so many young people competing in sport at the one time in the same venue. Presentations at 12.45/1pm approx.
