The Women’s All Ireland League fixtures for 2018/19 season have been announced and for the first time, many of the matches will be played on a Saturday afternoon as part of a doubleheader with the men’s All Ireland League team.

The decision to schedule the matches on a Saturday was taken in consultation with the clubs to encourage them to create a festival feel to match days and attract more members to both games.

Defending champions UL Bohemians kick off their campaign against Highfield on Saturday, 29th September, in the first of those doubleheaders with the men’s game against Highfield in Division 2A at 2.30pm and the women’s game at 5 pm.

Beaten finalists Old Belvedere are on the road to Cooke who finished in 4th place last season. Railway Union, who finished 2nd last season but lost narrowly to Belvo in the league semi-final, are also away as they travel the short distance to St Mary’s College, who won promotion at the end of last season.

The final match of the opening weekend sees Blackrock at home to Galwegians.
