There is one week left to buy tickets for the IRFU Your Club Your Country Draw. This is the 13th year that the highly successful draw has been run.
As ever, there are lots of great prizes to be won. All prizes are funded by IRFU sponsors, and with 100% of the funds raised through ticket sales going directly to the selling clubs, this is a great way to support your club. Since its inception in 2011, over €7 million has been raised by clubs across Ireland.
Last year, clubs across Leinster raised €449,000 through the Your Club Your Country Draw. The Draw has become an important source of funding for participating clubs. All money raised from ticket sales by each club goes back to that club. If your club sells €5,000 worth of tickets, your club gets €5,000. It’s as simple as that.
Coolmine RFC was the top fundraising club in Ireland in 2022. The club raised over €25,000 through the YCYC draw. The Coolmine story makes for very interesting reading. Here is what Coolmine Club President Shane Delaney had to say:
“As a club we have used YCYC funding as an important source for fundraising. The key and attractive dimension of the YCYC is that all the prizes on offer are provided by the IRFU which leaves the club free to sell as many as possible of IRFU Grand Draw tickets and retain 100% of the funds generated from these sales to support our rugby programme.
This season we have just commissioned a brand-new strength and conditioning centre at our club. This is operated by a leading specialist Darragh Henry. The new centre is combined with a state-of-the-art physiotherapy centre which is designed around player welfare and recovery from injury.
The facility will be used by both Youth Rugby and our Adult Teams from U16 upwards.
Establishing a first-class facility for our rugby playing community here at the club in the Dublin 7/11/15 and surrounding areas is of paramount importance to us. The club plans to continue using YCYC Draw proceeds as an integral part of essential annual fundraising activities.
We couldn’t have undertaken this project in Coolmine RFC without the fund-raising possibilities that YCYC provided.
We are delighted to see both LBIRFU and the IRFU promote this valued initiative as it assists with garnering local enthusiasm and support for our fundraising programmes each season and hopefully, we can produce additional Provincial & International Players as we have done in recent seasons.
We look forward to the next few seasons with some very exciting prospective players emerge to assist the Club achieve greater attainments within Leinster and Irish Rugby.”
