Coach Development Officer

Dan was appointed Community Development Officer with the Leinster Branch in September 2009. Dan enjoyed an illustrious career where he represented the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup (1992-’96), Mpumalanga before moving to the Western Province the following year.

The talented scrum-half played for the Stormers in the Super 12 (1997-’00) and during that time represented the South African Barbarians and the Springboks – captaining the midweek sides on the tours to Argentina and Europe in 2000.

He moved to Bristol in the English Premiership in 2001 and then moved to Ireland to begin his coaching career with Co. Carlow FC where he was player-coach. He enjoyed spells with Clontarf FC and his current club Dundalk RFC.

An accomplished off-spinner and middle order batsman, Dan also featured in the Northern Transvaal cricket squad alongside the likes of Fanie de Villiers, West Indian great Richie Richardson and Mike Haysman from 1988-’98 and represented the SA colts side in Action Cricket. He also gained Junior Springbok colours for Judo.
