Declan O’Brien

Declan O'Brien

Coach Development Officer

Declan O’Brien re-joined Leinster Rugby as a Rugby Development Officer in November 2006 after representing the province in a playing career which spanned four years (1998-2002) which included Ireland ‘A’ honours against France.

During this time the former Wexford Intermediate hurling champion (in 1996/97) won the Interprovincial championship with Leinster in 1997/98 and 2001/02, the same year that he helped Leinster seal the inaugural Celtic League title.

From 2002-06 the back-row forward played and coached in Enniscorthy and De la Salle Palmerston and within that time qualified as a Level 2 coach.

He is still playing in his hometown of Enniscorthy and studying for a Hetac approval in Strength and Conditioning with Setanta College.
